Charlie Glenn
Charlie Glenn’s debut solo album GET REFLECTED marks a significant moment in his career, reflecting the culmination of years spent contributing to various projects. Known for his work with Palm Palm, The Head and the Heart, Illiterate Light, and as founding member of The Trillions, and more, Glenn has finally found the time and space to release a collection of songs that are deeply personal and reflective of the challenges he has faced in recent years.
The album, which features 12 tracks, showcases Glenn’s proficiency with guitar, catchy hooks, and a penchant for darker, more angular melodies. The music was born from difficult circumstances, including a breakup and housing instability. These themes of emotional struggle are reflected in the lyrics, but Glenn also finds a sense of catharsis in his music. He often views his songwriting as a form of emotional purging, allowing him to process difficult emotions through song.
GET REFLECTED’s recording process was equally unconventional. Many of the tracks were recorded in a studio where Glenn was essentially living, and the rough, spontaneous nature of the sessions helped capture the raw emotional energy of the music. Glenn’s decision to release the album now, despite the turbulence surrounding him, is a way to transform these struggles into something positive.
