Desert Garden

Desert Garden is an electronic music project based in Richmond, Virginia, led by Matthew McGuigan, with contributions from vocalist Jennifer Hui Roystone. Their music draws inspiration from the 1980s 4AD era, known for its ethereal and atmospheric soundscapes.

TRANSPORTATON / INFRASTRUCTURE features ten tracks that blend darkwave and minimal synthwave elements. McGuigan composed and performed the music, while Roystone provided vocals on select tracks, including "A Source Of Energy," "Roundabout," and "Raining In The Urban Bazaar."

The album's sound is reminiscent of the pioneering work of 4AD artists such as Cocteau Twins and Dead Can Dance, characterized by atmospheric textures and haunting vocals.

Matthew is known for his role in Virginia bands Coral and Siddal.
