Tyrone Sanborn Webster
Tyrone Sanborn Webster is a Southern California-based musician and songwriter known for his minimalist, acoustic-driven melodies and evocative rhythms. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Webster lived in rural Minnesota and Austin, Texas, where he played drums for several bands, including the art-rock group Desilu. Since 2019, he has focused on solo projects that showcase his deeply personal and introspective artistry.
Inspired by the introspective legacies of Radiohead, Elliott Smith, José González, and Nick Drake, Tyrone's music resonates with emotional depth and quiet power. Armed with an acoustic guitar and haunting vocals, he crafts raw, intimate melodies that blend intricate progressions with poignant storytelling. Recorded in the solitude of his home, his songs carry a melancholic beauty, inviting listeners into a timeless space where simplicity and emotion reign.
Tyrone’s debut album, INTENTION, began as an ambient project for personal meditation sessions but evolved into a seven-track album exploring themes of love, anxiety, sadness, and transformation. The relaxed and organic nature of the creative process allowed him to rework older songs, transform poems from his notebook, and compose new material during recording sessions. The result is a deeply personal body of work that captures a period of profound personal growth.
A limited edition vinyl reissue of INTENTION includes the single "CHANGE YOUR MIND," seamlessly integrated into the album's sequence. This addition further enriches the record’s exploration of Tyrone’s internal and external experiences during a pivotal time in his life.
Tyrone’s minimalist approach speaks volumes—proving that with a guitar, a voice, and a story, music can connect on the deepest levels. His work balances vulnerability with artistic precision, inviting reflection and lingering long after the final note.
